The Analogues
There are tribute bands, and then there’s The Analogues. In 1966, The Beatles ceased touring, leaving their later – and arguably best – albums never performed live. Ten years ago, drummer Fred Gehring and bassist Bart van Poppel embarked on the ambitious plan to bring that music to the stage. Exactly as The Beatles played it, using the same instruments and equipment from the ’60s. The result is stunning, even recognized by sound engineer Geoff Emerick, who worked with The Beatles behind the mixing console. The Analogues revive perhaps the finest body of work in pop music.
