Matt Maltese
At 26 years old, Matt Maltese is a British singer-songwriter who stands out among his peers. He does everything just a little differently: Maltese is a true crooner with a beautiful voice who predominantly writes melancholic pop songs on the piano, often with underlying meanings. Cynicism is not foreign to him; he sings just as emotionally about love as he does about the atomic bomb, as seen in his powerful pop ballad “As The World Caves In,” his biggest hit to date. Maltese’s charming pop songs evoke memories of the great singer-songwriters from the 1970s. Perhaps he even plays some of their songs, as after four fine self-written albums, Maltese has just released the cover album “Songs That Aren’t Mine.”
