The Academic

Inspired by The Strokes and other 2000s rock bands, The Academic released their first EP, Loose Friends, ten years ago. Back then, the Irish boys had just graduated from high school. They hit the ground running, as their catchy indie rock, full of infectious hooks and big choruses, quickly gained traction. The single Bear Claws became a hit, and their albums Tales From The Backseat and Sitting Pretty reached the top of the Irish charts. The Academic continues to play bigger venues every year, so with new material in hand, it’s high time for a return to Landgraaf!
