In the spring of 2020, everything was running smoothly for the men behind the monster hits Ho Hey and Ophelia until Covid took hold. The worldwide lockdowns were the starting signal for the American folk duo The Lumineers to start doing everything differently. Wesley Schultz and Jeremiah Fraites recorded solo albums, which proved to be a tonic for their self-confidence, providing a new way of creating songs. Their latest work, Brightside, sounds like a celebration of spontaneity, innocence and curiosity. With this unplanned musical transformation and their hits in tow, the duo is now about to make their debut at Pinkpop. Highly recommended for lovers of atmospheric folk that has a high sing-along content on occasions, but where laughter, sadness and shivers are all possible and probable reactions.
