His peerless debut Home Again is full of semi-acoustic folk-soul, wrapped in a warm, melancholy feelgood glow and already acknowledged as a classic of its kind. In the (at least) equally successful follow-up, 2016’s Love & Hate, Michael takes a more radical, heavier course – helped out on production by Danger Mouse and exemplified by the funky hit Black Man In A White World.
